Re-Elect Councilor James Winther

Well on August 13, 2024 I filed papers to run for re-election of the City Council for the upcoming election on Nov. 5. It has been such an honor to serve this wonderful community, and I am truly looking forward to the chance to continue our relationship in making Monroe a better place for everyone. Let us continue to build upon this and have a lively hood for our city.
I am your City Councilor and I have worked hard to listen and learn about the issues that concern us all and to take action on these issues because I really do care and I really do want to make a difference in the life of each and every one of you. One of the causes that is near and dear to my heart is that the families here have continuous access to good wholesome food. Over the past few years, I’ve worked alongside local organizations, businesses, and government partners to develop real solutions that support our neighbors—especially those who need it the most. But there’s still more we can accomplish together. If I’m re-elected, I’ll keep pushing forward on initiatives that strengthen the heart of our community. I’m committed to exploring new ways to connect with residents, building a local government that’s approachable and responsive, and finding fresh opportunities to support economic growth, environmental sustainability, and public safety. Our town is not just a place to live but also to raise our families, make friends, and make memories. I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved together to preserve the unique character and quality of life here, and I’m even more excited about what’s next.I would be proud to have your vote and be your voice on the City Council. Let’s continue to make our community something we can all be proud of, for ourselves, for our families, for the children to come.
If you re-elect me as counselor I will work to:
- Engage with the community on all issues facing us
- Complete beautification and infrastructure projects
- Bring community events, such as a farmers market, back to the town
- Encourage healthy growth and local business support
- Plan and prepare for emergencies and natural disasters
